Yuga Labs Partners With Somnia to Increase Metaverse Interoperability and Incentives

We’re incredibly excited about our latest partnership: Somnia is teaming up with Yuga Labs to bring additional interoperability to the Otherside metaverse and new utility to their collections.

Yuga Labs is best known as the creator of the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs and the owner of CryptoPunks. Yuga Labs was founded in 2021, when the Bored Ape Yacht Club was launched. 

This collaboration will open up a new realm of possibilities within the Otherside using the Somnia Protocol to enhance interoperability and introduce new functionalities for the collections. Yuga collection holders will now be able to participate in metaverse events using their avatars, showcase their NFT collections, and accrue additional points in Somnia’s quests.

Holders of Kodas, Otherdeed Expanded, Bored Ape Yacht Club, and Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFTs will also receive extra bonus points in the quests hosted on Somnia’s newly launched Metaverse Browser, with more features and perks on the way.

The Metaverse Browser acts as a user-friendly gateway to the metaverse, similar to a decentralized version of platforms like Steam or Epic Game Store. It enables seamless interaction with various metaverses and applications in the Somnia Ecosystem, requiring no prior knowledge of web3. Its open design facilitates an inclusive metaverse, allowing anyone to deploy applications and content.

Yuga Labs NFT holders will benefit from the ability to use their avatars across any platform built on Somnia, ensuring their identities and digital assets are interoperable across a wide range of experiences. This includes participation in large-scale events like the Twice listening party, hosted on MSquared.
